Magical Winter Festival of Lights Opens in Niagara

With COVID-19 it can be very difficult to know where you can celebrate and how you can enjoy the holiday season at its best. So many events are being canceled so it can be tough to find yourself in the holiday cheer. If you are interested in taking the family down to see a beautiful lights show, Niagara is the place to be this winter.

The OPG winter festival includes an 8 km route through a series of Niagara Parks, Dufferin Islands, and through the surrounding area. The festival of lights will be up and running from Nov 14 – Jan 10th and throughout the entire holiday season.

The best part about this Niagara winter festival of lights is that the hotels connected to the casinos are particularly inexpensive right now, the falls will still be illuminated and the festival of lights is also a completely free event.

As Niagara Falls is just a short drive away from the Toronto area, this is an accessible journey through the holiday season and the perfect small getaway that you can enjoy with your family, even if it is just for a few short hours or one evening. Donations are accepted and this is a beautiful way to see more than 3 million lights across the display.

If you would prefer to bundle up and walk through the lights, the walking trails have been set up to allow for easy physical distancing. If you are interested in enjoying the winter festival of lights form your car there are also roads that trail along the sides of the park to make the entire festival enjoyable from your vehicle
